At Epic Sierra, we are dedicated to providing the highest quality adventure travel for teens.  We focus on education, giving back to the communities we visit, and having fun as we explore some of the country’s most beautiful places.

Safety

Ask any Epic trip leader and they will tell you the job is loads of fun, but we take it very seriously.  Safety of every individual participant is our #1 priority.  Trip itineraries are well planned and our

leaders are well prepared to make every adventure a success.  Every leader goes

through an introductory training program which covers trip planning, food

preparation, group management, and emergency evacuation procedures.  Leaders

hold Class B Driver’s Licenses and are certified in Wilderness First Responder (WFR),

with CPR and First Aid certifications.

Affordability

We believe all youth should have an opportunity to explore the outdoors while

learning the value of conservation and protection of resources.  Through

donations, grants, and collaborations with organizations, we keep programs

affordable for participants who might not engage in adventure travel opportunities.

Adventure travel is one part of the American River Conservancy, a non-profit conservation organization.  Epic Sierra strives to support its operations while adventure travel and environmental education programs that are meaningful

and affordable.

Care for the Environment

On our trips, we provide participants with ideas, skills and tools on how to become better environmental stewards.

Behind the scenes, in every aspect of planning, preparation, and implementation, Epic Sierra makes choices that have less impact on the natural world and its valuable resources including the following:

  1. We collaborate with local businesses and non-profits with established reputations.  Many have the same ethic

towards caring for the earth as we do.

  1. We purchase a large percentage of our produce from local sources.

  2. We limit trip waste by recycling and composting as much as possible.

  3. We create a smaller stream of waste by providing re-usable containers

(no styrofoam or paper products on trips) and limit the amount of

   purchases with excess packaging.

  1. Our web hosts their company with wind power.
