Epic Sierra Adventures takes adventure travel to new heights.  Our trips highlight fun outdoor activities unique to the Sierra Nevada and surrounding region.

Safety

As State Park Ranger John Clagett says,

“Safety’s Third.  What’s first and second?  Safety.”

Humor aside, we engage in outdoor adventure activities
throughout our journey and there is an inherent amount
of risk involved.  We minimize risk by preparing our
participants and providing proper safety equipment.  Our leaders undergo detailed wilderness training and hold Wilderness First Responder (WFR), First Aid and CPR certifications.

Education

In everything we do, education is a key centerpiece.  We strive to teach the value in exploring the outdoors while having as little impact on it as possible.  Learn more...

Giving Back

We spend our time outdoors and exploring nearby towns.  We feel it is
important to share the value of giving back to public lands and neighboring
communities.  On each trip, participants participate in several short service
projects.  Projects may include: helping build trails, restoring river and
alpine habitat, and improving places for wildlife to flourish.  Teens
participate in 15 hours of community service projects, which may go
towards school service project requirements.

Staff

Our trip leaders are diverse professional and experienced individuals. All trips
include at least one male and one female leader who are a minimum of 21 years old.  Check out some of their stories and bios.

Small Groups

With small groups, we can give individual attention to all participants.  Trips have between two and four adult leaders with a ratio of one adult per 5-7 participants.  Traveling in small groups and shorter travel distances,  we spend less time driving and more time adventuring.  Groups cap at 20.

Sierra Nevada Mountains

The Sierra Nevada mountain range spans 400 miles through
California’s eastern border.  This scenic 25 million acre stretch
provides valuable habitat for wildlife, including endangered
and threatened species.

The Sierra Nevada is not only a majestic landscape, but a
valuable resource for Californians.  Over 25 million residents
depend on Sierra water for household consumption.  On an
Epic Sierra Adventures, we help teens and adults appreciate
this unique place and other natural open spaces with enjoyable
and exhilarating activities.   On their journey, we also search for answers in finding a healthy balance between human and nature’s needs.

Why Epic?

“The more open you are to it [the wilderness], the more you will love it.  It has way more to offer than I thought and makes you realize what really matters (friends, food, good times).”
